This one seems a little much to me. I used to park in that spot on occasion myself for what I thought were entirely legitimate reasons. While it may be that Phil probably does not deserve a break on a lot of issues this may be one where he does.
I appreciate your comment Cliff and if the CAO was using the spot as intended I might even agree with you. However based on the article in the 13 02 01 edition of the Winnipeg Free Press City spokesman Steve West indicated that “Sheegle decided to use the space full-time following the Civic Centre Parkade closure, as a way to minimize the number of parking spots the city had to find elsewhere”. I think the area in question was designed and intended for loading or temporary parking.
Ah. I did not know that the CAO had taken something close to permanent possession of the spot. I now am inclined to agree with you on this one. Once again I am reminded that one should always seek out the full facts before coming to conclusions. Thanks Menno.
